The BEST Gingerbread Loaf Recipe

My local baker makes the most amazing gingerbread...until now!

This is the best recipe if you want a soft, moist and incredibly delicious gingerbread. So read on if you fancy something with a little bit of spice!

Only 7 ingredients, and 1 hour stand between you and this epic gingerbread.

This really is a favourite in my family, and I find I am making it more and more as it's most definitely a crowd pleaser! I will say 'what about another kind, maybe another flavour...' but nope its always gingerbread
I received the message 'Bryan ate the last piece tonight, nearly cried when are you making more' so if that doesn't tell you that this is the right delicious baked good for you to bake this week...then I think we have problems!Or my rather strange gingerbread loving family do...
Here it goes, the super duper tasty gingerbread loaf

You will need...
240g plain flour
240ml milk-i use skimmed
190g caster sugar
170g butter-cubed and room temperature if possible
5 dessert spoons of golden syrup
1 round but not heaped teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
2 heaped teaspoons ground ginger-if you want a more subtle flavour use one heaped teaspoon
If you want a bit of an extra kick you can add a teaspoon of cinnamon along with the ginger

1.Pop the oven onto gas mark 4 so its good and toasty for you.

2.Put your cubed butter in a pan and melt it down, add the sugar, milk, golden syrup and ginger. Heat until its mixed then remove and put to one side.

3.In a big ass bowl sieve your flour and baking powder then pour the mixture in-lightly whisk until its smooth then pour into your prepared loaf tin. The mixture will seem quite watery but thats exactly how its meant to be.

4.Put in the oven and set a timer for 45 mins
after 45 mins open the oven and use a metal/wooden skewer to test if its thoroughly cooked by inserting the skewer through the middle of the loaf-if it comes out clean then get that loaf out the oven and onto a cooling rack, if it comes out with little crumbs then cook for a further 2-3 mins and test again.

5.Leave it to rest and cool for at least half an hour(if you can wait that long) before cutting into it and eating its yummy goodness!

So there it is! The best gingerbread loaf EVER created (in my opinion). I really do love this recipe so expect updates as i have many more ginger friendly ingredients that i think i shall be experimenting with! I cant wait, and neither can my tummy!
